An article published by AFP has several factual mistakes. AFP published a news article with the title "100 ans après, la Catastrophe de Smyrne continue de hanter la Grèce" which means "100 years later, the Catastrophe of Smyrna continues to haunt Greece" and the article has substantial errors!

The article called a massacre the event when the Turks drove the enemies in September 1922 from Türkiye.

In 1830, a Greek State was established in the Peloponnese, including Athens. The vast majority of Greeks were still under Ottoman rule. Greece's next "Great Ideal" policy was to capture Istanbul and other Ottoman lands inhabited by the Greeks. In the following years, Greece continued to grow against Trükiye with the support of the West. Just like now, Greece became a pawn and a spoiled child, which Europe used against the Turks.

After the Ottoman Empire lost the First World War, Greece dreamed of big dreams and tried to invade Anatolia. During the occupation period, very negative events took place. They burned and destroyed everywhere. They killed the children. They raped women. However, Greece, which started to occupy Western Anatolia with the support of the British, encountered unexpected resistance and could not stand against the Turkish army and suffered a great defeat.

During the Turkish War of Independence, 640,000 Turkish civilians were killed by the Greek army. After the occupation of Izmir on 14/15 May 1919, Greek troops massacred a part of the Turkish population of the city. According to the sources of the Allied Powers, between 300 and 400 Turks were killed on May 15, 1919. As the Greek army advanced into Anatolia, the Turks living in the region faced massacres, rapes and destruction.

Harold Armstrong, a British military official, reported that the Greek army went from Izmir to the interior of Anatolia, massacring, burning, looting and raping civilians. British historian Arnold J. Toynbee wrote that after the Greek occupation of Izmir on 15 May 1919, massacres were carried out in an organized manner. Toynbee stated that he witnessed the persecution of the Greeks in the Izmit, Yalova and Gemlik regions and that houses were looted and burned in the said regions. According to Marjorie Housepian, 4000 Muslims were executed in Greek-occupied Izmir. 200 Turkish civilians were killed in the Menemen Massacre. In one village, the Greek army demanded 500 gold liras so that they would not damage the village. The payment was made, but the village was still burned and destroyed. As a result of the Bergama Raid, 100,000 Turkish civilians were forced to migrate to the region. According to many sources, the Greek army followed a tactic of destruction when withdrawing from Anatolia in the final part of the war.

The friendship period, which started with the victory of Türkiye and continued until 1955, was later changed by Greek arrogance. Despite the NATO membership of both countries that started in 1952, Greece, which took the western world behind it, continued its encroachments in many areas, especially in the Aegean.

All of today's Aegean problems originate from Greece. In Lausanne, Anatolia was given to the Turks; In return, they believe that the Aegean has been left to them. However, when Lausanne was signed, the territorial waters regime was 3 miles. In other words, the open sea areas of the Aegean are 79%.

While the continental shelf was to be divided over this area, with the declaration of 6 miles of territorial water by Greece in 1936 and Türkiye in 1964, it has regressed to 49% today.

On the other hand, Greece, which aims not to leave any living space for Türkiye in the Aegean by increasing its territorial waters from 6 miles to 12 miles since the 1980s, plans to usurp the 153 islands, islets and reefs whose sovereignty and belonging are disputed, and to transform the Aegean into a completely Greek geopolitical sovereignty area.

After the 2000s, the Eastern Mediterranean was added to Greece's Aegean plans. Although the islands in front of the continent do not have a continental shelf, the fact that they made a maritime delimitation agreement with Egypt in the Eastern Mediterranean with the encouragement of the USA was their last shame in this process. In fact, these plans of Greece, which wants more Aegean and more Mediterranean, are not different from the state mind that landed enchantment soldiers in Izmir on May 15, 1919. Greece continues its moves in a way that will leave Türkiye in a constantly reactionary position.

Greece violates the Lausanne Peace Treaty in every way; recently by not recognised the muftis selected by the Turkish minority. Despite Türkiye's efforts to ease tension in the region, Greece continues with its provocative actions. Türkiye, a NATO member for more than 70 years, has complained of repeated provocative actions and rhetoric by Greece in the region in recent months, including arming islands near Turkish shores that are demilitarized under a treaty, saying that such moves frustrate its good faith efforts for peace.

Now as seen clearly, French media supports Greece's unlawful claims and actions! Greece is hiding FETO, PKK/YPG, Daesh, and DHKP-C terrorists. They make them go to various countries. While all this is seen, they claim that there is no such thing, with great negligence, and hypocrisy. It is inconceivable to understand this. And media groups from Europe or the US are throwing claims, which they would never be able to get proof of, against Türkiye for backing the Greece government!
